Tiffany and Aaron are a very special couple, indeed. Aaron suffered a stroke at the age of 10, leaving him paralysed down one side. But didn’t stop him becoming an Australian champion and Paralympian butterfly swimmer. However, an injury meant he wasn’t going to Rio for the 2016 Games, so Tiffany and Aaron took advantage of the opportunity to get married before the birth of their baby.
They chose the striking Magna Carta Place in Canberra’s parliamentary triangle for their wedding ceremony venue.
This gazebo-like structure has incredible acoustics and was the perfect venue for this intimate ceremony, attended by seven of Tiffany and Aaron’s closest family and friends.
Aaron and Tiffany wrote their own vows, promising to love each other forever, even when they are old and wrinkly. Tiffany also promised to ignore Aaron when he spoke under his breath and to lend him her strength help him reach his goals.
Aaron wanted to include a special ritual in the ceremony to publicly acknowledge is love for Tiffany’s daughter Charlotte. So he gave her a locket as a piece of his heart and vowed to to always be there for her whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on or whenever she needed help.
Readings
Tiffany and Aaron chose one of my favourite readings which I felt was perfect for this special family:
‘He’s not Perfect’ by Bob Marley
He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect. But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give. Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there. Love hard when there is love to be had. Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always one guy that is perfect for you.

The fabulously talented Kelly McInness Photography captured this very special wedding, choosing our National Gallery of Australia as the location for wedding shoot.
Styling
Tiffany and Aaron’s signing table was provided by the lovely ladies at Pink Parasol Events. They coordinated perfectly with the teal and gold theme.
